Greatest Pulls of All-Time – 1955 Topps All-American The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame

Sealed since 1955, a pack-fresh card of the famed Four Horsemen of Notre Dame was pulled from a Topps All-American pack live during a card breaks stream!

Notre Dame football won the 1927 National Championship. Under coach Knute Rockne, ND demolished every team in their path. ND outscored their opponents 285 to 54 en route to a perfect 10-0 season. Leading the way was the backfield of Harry Stuhldreher (QB), Don Miller (HB), Jim Crowley (HB), and Elmer Laydon (FB), famously dubbed The Four Horsemen by sports writer Grantland Rice.

Topps was unable to produce cards of professional players from the gridiron in 1955, as Bowman had the contracts to do so. To release a football product, Topps opted for Heisman Trophy winners and retired players in the Hall of Fame. A 100-card set was created and includes a card of the Four Horsemen.

Vintage Breaks held a sealed pack of 1955 Topps All-American and offered spots in the break. Each spot guaranteed you one card from the pack. Each card has not seen the light of day in 69 years! Days when gas was 20 cents per gallon, and I Love Lucy was on TV. Watch this amazing pull:

The Four Horsemen! The backfield is in their Notre Dame uniforms, leather helmets and all. Checking the PSA pop report, there are ZERO PSA 10, 22 PSA 9, and 118 PSA 8. Might Vintage Breaks add to these numbers?

With modern cards, better quality control, and of course, social media, we can keep track of big hits rather easily. Vintage Cards, though, are nearly impossible to track how many cards still reside in packs like this. You may never see a card of The Four Horsemen pulled from a pack again! To join in on the next break at Vintage Breaks, head to their site HERE. Let us know if YOU pull one of the Greatest Pulls of All-Time.
