The accolades that Hall of Fame QB, Joe Montana, has could take up this entire post. A four-time Super Bowl champion, a National Champion, a pair of NFL MVP awards – there isn’t much Joe Cool couldn’t do on the field. His accomplishments make his 1981 Topps rookie card an iconic piece in the hobby. Today we get a special treat to watch the San Francisco 49ers legend open packs and search his own rookie card!
Montana sat down with Ken Goldin of Goldin Auctions. Ken has handled some of the biggest sales of sports cards and memorabilia in the entire world. Items such as a T206 Honus Wagner baseball card, game-worn jerseys from greats like Tom Brady, and even an actual Heisman Trophy have been sold by Ken Goldin. Goldin and Montana have paired for an amazing auction of Montana’s personal items including game-worn jerseys from the Super Bowl! Both Montana and Goldin opened up a box of 1981 Topps football cards to hunt for a Montana rookie. Could we see Montana pull a Montana?!
We love that Montana wanted to keep the card! We wonder if Kenny let Joe Cool take that one home. Montana pulled a Montana – that might be a Greatest Pull of All-Time!
