Celebrity Breaks – Drake

The certified lover boy himself is on the hunt for some certifiably legendary cards. Join us in this installment of Celebrity Breaks as we watch Drake crack open some serious heat!

Music Mogul, Drake, has entered the card breaks hobby and did so in a MAJOR way! Drizzy went hunting for serious Grail cards in the biggest products around. The key card Drake is trying to pull is the LeBron James Triple Logoman card from 2021 Panini Flawless, a card potentially worth seven figures. Along with the Flawless break, Drake hopped into a sealed box of 1986-87 Fleer basketball cards searching for a Michael Jordan rookie card.

Drake has sold over 170 million records and has 4 Grammy awards under his belt. He’s also seen more of his songs charted than any other artist. He’s done it all in the music world! Did you know he’s also a massive sports fan? When the Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship, Drizzy was in the parade with the team. Not just showing up to see the team – Drake was elbow to elbow with the world champs and even held the trophy! He now has the sports cards itch we all have and jumped into our hobby!

The card Drake really wants is a 2021 Panini Flawless LeBron James Triple Logoman card. Featuring the NBA logo patch from a James jersey, there is one from the three teams LeBron has suited up for – the Lakers, Heat, and Cavaliers. In the entire product, only ONE of these cards exists, and Drake wants it. The logoman cards are very desirable and often expensive on the secondary market. The Zion logo man was sold at Goldin Auctions for $233,700. The Zion is a one-of-one card as well, but just a single logoman – and he’s no LeBron. The LBJ triple could be seven figures!

Flawless comes in a briefcase and contains one pack of 10 cards. There are eight autographed cards, one memorabilia, and one diamond card. The cost per case is $15,000 EACH. Drake not only bought MANY cases in breaks, but he also decided to chase another legendary card. When word got out that Drake had never before opened a pack of cards, he sat down with the owner of the aforementioned Goldin Auctions, Ken Goldin, to rip Flawless. He also opened a sealed box of 1986-87 Fleer basketball where he was looking to pull a Michael Jordan rookie card. Today, a PSA 10 (gem mint) Jordan rookie is easily $300,000. We’re not sure what Drake paid for this box break, but Goldin sold a box last year for $180,000! That box has 36 packs and 12 cards + 1 sticker per pack.

How did Drizzy do in his breaks?! LA FAV Cards broke 14 Flawless cases ($200,000+) for Drake on their Instagram to start the Triple logoman chase.

After breaking with LA FAV, Drake broke more Flawless cases and then the ‘86 Fleer box with Ken Goldin.

Drake’s Triple logoman hunt is still on! He pulled some great cards from Flawless in both breaks, but no grail card yet. He did, however, pull THREE MJ rookie cards from the Fleer box. We did notice he went “Back-to-Back,” pulling the GOAT rookies in consecutive packs. We see you, Drizzy – we see you.

Keep an eye out in your next Flawless break; you may be pulling cards with Drake! Here’s to hoping more celebrities enjoy the hobby you and we love.
