The Best Pulls of the Week – Week of 3.28.22

Let's take a look at the five most exciting hits from last week. Kick back and enjoy.

1. 2022 Topps Heritage Baseball Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Auto Relic

Online Redemption Cards are the pull that keeps on giving. Not only do you get your card a few weeks or months in after a pack has been broken, but chances are it’s a doozy. Would Topps promise you a common? I don’t think so. In this instance, a Vlad Clubhouse Collection Autograph Relic was bestowed upon Mojo Break. The stunning Autographed Relic is certainly a prized pull in this Heritage Topps line.

2. 2022 Panini Prizm UFC Tom Aspinall Rookie Gold /99

This Box Break by DACW felt like a Heavyweight bout. Twelve packs, one pack per spot, and the hits kept coming. As Aspinall, a fierce, up-and-coming Brit, makes his way up the Top 10 Heavyweight Rankings, his card made its way to the featured pull in this loaded UFC Prizm Box. It was a Rookie Gold out of 99 for Ricky L., but there were plenty of UFC Stars to go around for everyone in this big Box Break.

3. 1985 Topps Mark Mcguire Rookie Card

The card we hate to love, or love to hate… or love to love and/or hate to hate; depends on your relationship with it, really. But we all know it. Ripping Vintage Packs pull a 1984 McGwire USA Baseball Team card. It was pulled in the 1st rack, “I love starting off with a bang,” exclaimed Breaker Kurt Christensen, and we agree. The card wasn’t centered very well (even for an ’85 USA McGwire), but it’s always good to see another piece of Major League Baseball history being pulled.

4. 1981 Topps Basketball George Gervin

Ice Cold. The Iron Ripper does it again, pulling a George “Iceman” Gervin. It was a Super Action, the Variant of its day, and is one of the five most valuable cards in the 1981 Topps set. Gervin was named in the top 75 of all time. His cards, in a GEM 10, have been going for $8,000+. Mike Roberts went big and won big with JRI and another vintage card victory.

5. 2021 Playbook D’Wayne Eskridge Rookie Patch Auto Booklet

Rookie Patch Auto Booklet, those are four beautiful words. Almost as beautiful as the sharp Seahawks Green covering the entire patch on this prize for Anthony P.

It was from Playbook’s Double Moves subseries in the 2021 set, and the autograph is centered near-perfectly. It was a PYT, and we don’t know if Anthony Puente is a Seahawks fan or not, but we know he’s a fan of this Filthbomb Break.
