Top Breaks to Buy Into – Week of 11.1.21

We know you’ve been waiting – here are The Top Breaks of The Week.

1. 2021 Topps Baseball Update

The Topps Update just dropped on Friday, 10/29! Not much is changing from Series 1 or Series 2, so this is a pretty steady issue for Topps. With the season nearly wrapped up, you’re wondering what could be worth chasing in Update. How about Topps bringing back BLACK GOLD! In 1993, Topps issued 1 gold card per pack, but only 1 black gold card per box. We know you loved chasing that black gold Griffey Jr. or Big Mac. This year, you chase the likes of Aaron Judge, Fernando Tatis, Mike Trout, and more in the 25-card insert set. Layton Sports Cards is doing a Jumbo 6-box case of random teams for $39.99 per spot HERE. Each of the six boxes has 10 packs of 46 cards each, 1 auto, and 2 relics.

2. 1985 Topps WWF

Last week, we learned that Panini landed the WWE contract for 2022. The vintage WWF Topps products are already seeing big-dollar sales, so now may be a good time to hop into a break of 1985 Topps WWF packs! A PSA 9 Hulk Hogan sold last week for just under $1,900, and a PSA 10 sold in August for over $21,000. You can try to pull a pack-fresh Hulkster if you’re feeling lucky. Now, go ahead and try to get this song out of your head while you get spots for $27.50 HERE from Vintage Breaks.

3. 2021 Absolute Football

One of the newest products is on our radar after seeing a Quad Relic Auto pulled last week of Trevor Lawrence. Steel City Collectables has a three-box, random division break on sale for $249.95 per spot HERE. Spots were $269.95; we love a good sale. Each box should hold 1 Rookie Premier Auto, 2 additional autos, 2 memorabilia cards, 1 insert, 2 parallels, and 1 rookie. There are 5 cards per pack and 3 packs per box. A spot here should qualify for free shipping according to Steel City’s shipping info here.

4. 1989 Fleer Basketball

A third-year PSA 10 Michael Jordan card is hovering around $1,200, while a 9 is about $80. You could look to pull a pack-fresh MJ out of 1989 Fleer with Ripping Vintage Wax, where a pack will only set you back $16, HERE. Each pack has 15 cards plus the sticker. You might also score a Jordan sticker, too. A PSA 9 sticker is selling for a little over $200 right now. You’re never guaranteed a top grade from cards, but pulling a card pack-fresh is the best chance!

5. 2021 Upper Deck Allure Hockey

A box of Allure comes with 1 auto and 2 Double Rainbow/Rare Parallels, along with other inserts to chase. There are 8 cards per pack and 8 packs to the box. Jaspy’s Case Breaks is doing a five-box (half case) with 2 random teams per spot at $49.99 per spot HERE. Allure is in its second year after having a nice 2019-20 debut. The quartz dye cut autos look AWESOME – it brings us back to chasing Upper Deck dis-cuts in the 90s! Here is what one looks like.
